Grand Tour Florence

A dazzling feast of multi-coloured marble, the magnificent, imposing structure of the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, literally bowls you over as you emerge from the surrounding medieval streets.

Better known as Il Duomo, it's still the largest brick built dome in the world, almost 600 years after it was completed by Brunelleschi.

The square also hosts the ancient Baptistery of San Giovanni and the free standing bell tower designed by Giotto himself!

Absolutely not to be missed, the state of the art Museo dell'Opera del Duomo, which houses all the precious original artworks that once decorated the three monuments, as well as the secrets behind the construction of Brunelleschi's cupola.

The tour includes entrance to all the aforementioned sites, not forgetting the exhilarating climb up to the very top of the dome and its breathtaking views over the city and surrounding hills (not for the faint-hearted!)
